Giselle

From a village romance to a moonlit encounter with the supernatural.

Giselle discovers that the man she loves has deceived her. After her death, her story continues among the Wilis, spirits whose revenge puts Albrecht’s life in danger. First performed in 1841, the ballet brings together Adolphe Adam’s music and the work of Jean Coralli and Jules Perrot. Later revisions, including those by Marius Petipa, helped shape the versions performed today.
