The Importance of Art

Art is directly connected to human nature. It plays a decisive role in communication since the artist transmits emotions and messages that make us rethink our existence, the problems of the world or simply reflect on life.

Crisis means opportunity

Crisis in Chinese is expressed 危机 (Wei Ji). It is made up of two characters: Wei, which translates as danger, and Ji, which means opportunity. The pandemic can serve to rethink the way the world works in all its aspects.

A smaller and smaller world

The development and evolution of new technologies has caused a paradigm shift in education, in the business world and in many other aspects of our society.

Giulia Conti  Artistic Director

Giulia is a professional ballet dancer and choreographer. Since her childhood, she has studied a wide range of classical and contemporary dance techniques. She started performing professionally at the age of 18. For more than 40 years she has been working as a ballet dancer, choreographer, and teacher. During her career, she has worked with many professional ballet companies and has performed in various ballet productions. Giula has created numerous ballet choreographies, which have been performed in various ballet festivals and competitions. She is a certified ballet teacher and has been teaching ballet for more than 20 years. hello@lookballet.com

Thomas Fincke  Executive Director

Thomas Fincke is the Executive Director of LookBallet.com, the first online platform dedicated to connecting the global ballet community. He is a former professional ballet dancer and has performed with companies such as the Royal Danish Ballet, the English National Ballet, and the Scottish Ballet. He has also worked as a choreographer, teacher, and rehearsal director. Fincke holds a degree in ballet pedagogy from the Royal Danish Ballet School and a Master’s degree in Arts Administration from Columbia University.

 

Friederike Schmidt Accounting / Finance

Friederike Schmidt joined the LookBallet platform in December 2021 as Accounting & Finance Manager. Before joining LookBallet.com, she spent four years working as a senior consultant at KPMG, where she gained experience in the fields of accounting, audit, finance and tax. She studied business administration at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and holds a degree in business administration. As Accounting / Finance Manager at LookBallet, Friederike Schmidt is responsible for LookBallet’s financial and accounting matters, tax compliance, and financial reporting.

Miguel Cruz  PR / Marketing

Miguel studied piano at the “Conservatorio Superior de Musica” of Madrid, Spain. He has experience as a ballet pianist and feeling passionate about dancing, music and the art of ballet. Miguel is also a professional photographer, and he is the one who takes all the pictures of LookBallet.com. press@lookballet.com

Alexander Volkov  Artistic Assistance

Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, he started ballet training at the age of nine. He graduated from the St. Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts, the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet. He graduated from the Kirov Ballet School in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 2001. He joined the Mariinsky Ballet Company, where he danced as a soloist in Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty. He also danced in The Legend of Love and Le Corsaire. He has toured with the Mariinsky Ballet Company to the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, China and the Saitama Arts Theatre in Saitama, Japan. In 2021, he joined LookBallet.com as the Artistic Assistance. auditions@lookballet.com

Laura Antoniou  Administrative assistance

She was born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1996. Laura began to dance at the age of three and she studied ballet at the Cyprus School of Ballet and Arts until she graduated in 2014. She was a member of the Cyprus National Ballet and the Cyprus Ballet Company, where she performed in many productions. She has participated in the Cyprus National Ballet’s Summer Intensive Program and she has studied at the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) in London. She has also participated in various workshops with internationally renowned teachers such as Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Nancy Oliveros and Jorgen Lind. Since 2021 she has been working as Administrative Assistant at LookBallet.com. She speaks Greek, English, French and Spanish. support@lookballet.com
