The Sleeping Beauty pairs Tchaikovsky’s score with a fairy-tale world. Its productions offer a way to explore classical ballet through contrasting characters, ceremonial scenes and virtuoso dancing. Compare the production credits before choosing a recording: a work’s title alone does not identify the choreography, cast or staging.
